Whistling While You Work: Cleaning House With Music Is Bliss!

I have a confession to make. I absolutely, undeniably hate cleaning the house. I enjoy gardening, and don’t mind yard work; but housecleaning is a dreaded occasion in my home. With the help of a few free mp3 downloads I can breeze through my dusting and sweeping while tapping my toes.

Pumped-up Upholstery and Divine Dusting

I need inspiration to clean up the crud in my home. There are certainly mp3 downloads that I can buy to soothe my aching soul (and back), but I like singing while I clean. It doesn’t matter if it’s country or soul, I belt the song out at the top of my lungs as the wood in my living room begins to shine.

Some standouts:

•    “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” by Aretha Franklin

•    “Burning Down the House” by the Talking Heads

•    “One Toke Over the Line” by Brewer & Shipley

•    “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns ‘n Roses

•    “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” by the Beatles

I got these free mp3 music downloads a few months ago and use them every week. Those five alone get me through my floors and upholstery.

Straightening Up with Streisand

If the room simply needs some straightening, I’ll put on the Les Miserables original cast recording or Barbara Streisand in her Funny Girl period. Any and all of these songs and albums are mp3 music downloads you can find almost anywhere.

For whatever you’re doing to spruce up your home, I can tell you from experience that the work doesn’t have to be torture. A glass of wine and a few free mp3 downloads later you’ll be wishing the house was messy all over again.
